In 2006 I was commissioned to produce a private collection of paintings designed exclusively for the interior of the motor yacht Amnesia. The theme for this collection was geology from around the world. I undertook a series of research trips to Sardinia, The British Virgin Islands and Jersey, Channel Islands, to study the coastal lines and record the dramatic differences in the geology of these locations.
I was influenced by the way rocks can work almost like mirrors capturing and reflecting the environment that surrounds them. 'A Geological Journey' is the culmination of two years work to portray the vibrancy and scenic atmosphere of these diverse coastal locations. |
